Sexual Health Nurse Practitioner
El completed her nursing degree at the University of Tasmania in June 2005 before moving to London, where she undertook full-time work at a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital. El worked within a large multidisciplinary team providing holistic care to large diverse cohorts in the area of sexual health and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) medicine. After moving back to Tasmania in 2010, she continues to work in sexual health as a clinical nurse consultant (CNC). In this time she has completed both a Master of Advanced Practice in Sexual Health and a Master of Nurse Practitioner (NP). El is currently as a Nurse Practitioner at The Bellerive Quay Health Hub and runs an afterhours NP clinic at the Tasmanian Council of AIDS, Hepatitis and Related Diseases, Clinic 319. She is passionate about sexual health, particularly the effective treatment and management of patients living with chronic HIV, and continue to strive for best practice and strong community health outcomes.
